Ndubisi Anyanwu is a seasoned Tri-Sector Leader with over 20 years of strategic, operational, and financial leadership experience spanning government, private sector, development, and humanitarian fields. Renowned for his collaborative approach and problem-solving capabilities, Ndubisi possesses exceptional interpersonal skills and a keen ability to contextualize complex issues. His commitment to accountability, transparency, and results has positioned him as a transformative figure in fostering effective governance and economic growth in Africa.
Currently, Ndubisi serves as the Country Director for Mercy Corps in Nigeria, where he has successfully managed impactful programs that have positively affected over 4 million participants over the past four years. He adeptly navigated the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, showcasing his strategic acumen and adaptability in program implementation. As a passionate advocate for meaningful change, Ndubisi actively engages in discussions and panels, offering valuable insights on governance and economic reform.
Prior to his role at Mercy Corps, Ndubisi was the Director General of the Imo State Investment Promotion Agency. In this capacity, he played a crucial role in facilitating AfreximBank's establishment of an Internationally Accredited African Quality Assurance Center in the Imo State, representing a proposed investment of $200 million. His experience also includes working in the Treasury at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. and serving as an advisor to Nigeria’s former Finance Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on private sector and legislative matters. As a Country Finance Consultant for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, his efforts were instrumental in securing a commitment of $5.3 million in vaccines from the Nigerian government. Ndubisi is the founding CEO of NOI Polls, Nigeria’s first country-specific opinion polling company, established in partnership with Gallup.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Rutgers University and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in International Relations at The Fletcher School at Tufts University, expected to graduate in August 2025.
In addition to his professional commitments, Ndubisi is dedicated to volunteer work. He served as the President of the Board of Governors at The American International School of Abuja and was elected to the Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) for Nigeria, which provides strategic direction for inter-agency humanitarian response. He also participated in a U.N.-led Inter-Agency Response Team for recent floods in Maiduguri. He is also a Counselor with the Inspiring Young Minds program, a nonprofit charitable organization focused on educating parents about various opportunities available for their children at college preparatory boarding schools.
